Reports for the week ending - 9.02.08
The drops in asking prices continue across all sites this week. Our Daft report this week shows 590 price changes, 547 drops and 43 increases.
The total value of price changes moved down slightly, to -€12m. Of the listings that changed in price, the average change was -5.3%.

On DNG we detected 86 price changes, 80 down and 6 up. The average price drop for those listings where the price changed was 5.8%. See the report here.
Some movement at the top end of the market with a pick-up in the number of drops detected on Lisney. The 13 drops can be found here.
On Propertynews.com we detected 307 price drops and an average decline of 7.3% in the Republic and 855 drops and an average decline of 6.7% in the North.

On Propertynews we detected 38 drops in rental asking prices in the Northern.

love the site, word of advice, get selling advert space quick (people dont care when the site content is good and the ads don’t take up too much of the page space - they get ignored). Word is spreading, and you might as well get something out of it for your efforts in scripting the searches of the property sites. Judging by the lifetime of the likes of the lowestfuelprices.com sites and such, my advice is get moving…
Hi Guys - the site is an amazing source of information. As an NI Estate agent we have seen this coming for some time and couldn’t believe some of the nonsense being spread by big name agents in an attempt to keep things moving. Is it possible to be able to break down the results by area (e.g. Newtownards, Bangor, Millisle) it could be invaluable when speaking with clients. There is still an incredible amount of irrational thinking out and about and some clients seem to think we are advising price reductions to make life easier for ourselves not understanding that we are trying to help them sell before the tide goes out any further.
